First Day Checklist

We are so excited that you are joining us for the 2025-26 Lower School program. To make your transition into the 2024-2025 school year smooth, we have put all of the summer and start of school information in one space.

Arrival and Dismissal

School begins at 8:30 a.m.

School Ends at 3:30 p.m.

Students may be dropped off in carline or walked through the front office by a guardian.

Early Care opens at 8 a.m.

Running Rays begins Tuesday, September 2 at 8 a.m. and occurs daily throughout the year.

Afterschool and SEA

Afterschool Signups will begin later this summer.

SEA registration will open later this summer.

Electives

Incoming 6th graders will take a variety of related arts. They will take a partial year of both French and Spanish.

Incoming 7th grade students are able to choose their foreign language (Spanish or French).

All students will need a backpack to carry items to and from school and a lunchbox with an icepack for lunch and snack. These items may be purchased from any store.

Advisory & Schedules

Your child will be a part of our signature advisory program starting on their first day of school.

Just before school begins, you will receive an email with the name of your child's advisor. On the first day of school they will spend the entire morning with their advisory group. They will receive their schedule at this time, set up their binder, and learn the ins and outs of Middle School. This is a great time to get to know other students, and break the ice with team building games. In the afternoon, students go through their entire schedule, meeting each teacher and learning class expectations.

Our Advisory Program is designed to inspire students as they identity passions and discover themselves. Our teachers are the best at what they do- true educators who challenge, guide, and support our students on their academic journey. 

An advisory becomes like a family on campus. The role of the advisor is to be an advocate, coach, mentor and communication point person for his/her advisees. As a parent, your child's advisory is your point person. Their advisor will know your child both as an individual learner and person, and understand how they work as part of a team. This relationship will ensure that your child has a strong middle school experience finding out more about themself, and how they contribute to a community.

Arrival & Dismissal

School Begins at 8:45 a.m.

Carline at the Upper School takes place in the large parking lot adjacent to the Upper School Gym.

Upper School Students driving younger siblings must drop them off in the carline on the east side of campus, adjacent to the Lower School Gym before proceeding to the Upper School Building. 

Advisory

Each student has a faculty advisor whom he/she meets with each day. The role of the advisor is to be an advocate, coach, mentor and communication point person for his/her advisees. 

Schedules & Electives

Schedules will be sent to students over the summer.

Returning Upper School students met with administration before the end of the school year to plan and share preferences for courses.

New students will be contacted by the Academic Dean starting July 1. As the schedules are still tentative, administration will reach out to any students with questions regarding their course selections for the coming year. That said, the formal drop/add for students is set for the first couple of weeks of August accordingly.

Textbooks

In order to ensure all students have the required textbooks to begin the school year and in an effort to provide families with the greatest savings, textbook ordering as well as novels required by the English department will now be ordered by the school and will be billed to your FACTS account. Book fees this year are $200.

Digital textbook ordering will be for core subject classes. Students will be required to purchase their own textbooks for AP courses and students will be contacted by the AP teacher.
