Pickleball
Grades: 1-8
Instructor: Addam Shand
Time: 3:30-4:30
Fun and fundamentals are what My Pickleball League is all about. My Pickleball League creates a safe and positive sports environment, where athletes can LEARN, PLAY and COMPETE, ages 6 through 16 while improving their athletic skills. This is accomplished through positive reinforcement coaching, with skill-level training, from high-level skilled coaches.
LEARN – My Pickleball League will have weekly (1 or 2 times per week) one hour practices, where athletes 6 – 16 years old will be broken up based on ability level. Instruction will focus on teaching the fundamentals while at the same time having FUN! As the athletes improve, our instruction is modified to keep challenging the athletes' abilities.
PLAY – At My Pickleball League we are true believers that it is incredibly important to play. It is one thing to learn a new skill set, however, until you use that new skill set in an actual "play" scenario, you will never know if you have mastered the skill set or not. We incorporate play after every new skill is taught.
COMPETE – In order to determine how far along you have come as a Pickleball athlete, you need to compete against others. Competition allows for athletes to determine what works and what needs improvement. My Pickleball League will have limited competition at practice, but will also be hosting tournaments throughout each season for all enrolled athletes in the program. (Please note, that with our youngest athletes, we will not be keeping score. The tournaments will be strictly to teach how a tournament works, but more so to have FUN!)
