Winners of the 2018-2019 Laws of Life Essay Contest were announced at a banquet held at the Naples Hilton (images below). We are thrilled to share Seacrest sophomore Isabella Stapp earned first place in her division! She presented her winning essay at a recent Flag Ceremony.

Each student took the stage at the banquet to deliver their award-winning speech to a captivated crowd of onlookers. Congratulations to the following winners:
  • Arya Rajaram, Pelican Marsh Elementary - Elementary School Division
  • Joanne Augustin, Manatee Middle - Middle School Division
  • Isabella Stapp, Seacrest Country Day School - High School 9-10 Grade Division
  • Faith Hundley, Gulf Coast High - High School 11-12 Grade Division

Seacrest senior Jessica Hudgins and 7th grade student Sofie Aspegren also had their essays chosen among the top ten in the county. Sofie placed fourth in her division. Thank you to Seacrest Upper School writing and English teachers, Dr. Bowden and Ms. Lax for their guidance during the Laws of Life Program.

The Laws of Life Program is a character-building activity that helps young people focus on and develop positive character traits that lead to successful citizenship and a successful life. More than 5,000 students contributed essays for judging. Forty semi-finalists presented their papers orally in front of the Blue Ribbon Panel of judges. From these, four finalists in each division were selected, and the winners were announced at the banquet. We are #CCPSProud of all the students who participated.
