Guest Novelist Encourages Upper School Writing Students

Author, writing professor, and Seacrest parent Glenn Miller led a fantastic guest class and workshop for Ms. Lax's Upper School creative writing class. Glenn is a novelist and short story writer. Two of his books for young readers will be published in 2019, and he is currently working on his Young Adult novel, Camper Girl, which is also in line for publication. He led our students through writing activities focused on sensory description and plot structure. He also spoke with them about the editing and publication process, and he gave great advice about the challenging and rewarding work life as a professional writer. He left each of our students with his favorite text about the craft of writing. We're so grateful he has been so generous with us, and we're excited to have him as a resource in the future.
