College Counseling

The Right Fit College - Preparing Students for College and Beyond

The college counseling process at Seacrest is a customized, student-centered journey that begins freshman year and continues on, sometimes, well past graduation. From assistance with course and activity planning to the completion of the application itself, every step of the process provides the student with an opportunity for self-reflection, motivation and growth.

The college counseling staff is able to support students with personalized attention at all stages of the college search and application process, including specialized assistance for student-athletes and artists.

College Counseling sets us apart and puts our student’s goals and futures first. The college process begins in ninth grade and is individualized to each student with the goal of finding the right fit for every senior, based on academic performance, future goals, school culture, student personality, financial needs, and extracurriculars. Students and parents become sophisticated college consumers who make educated decisions when choosing the perfect fit.

Voices of Seacrest Graduates

The words of our graduates truly represent their experience at Seacrest.

Queens Royals

My favorite Seacrest memory was being involved in peer mentoring and being a role model to the younger kids.

What I learned from Seacrest isn't from any individual class, but from the idea of a community. Through college, sports, and career, you are always working on teams. I really learned to work together with people, which is really important in any environment.

Kate Talano

Seacrest taught me the importance of community. Nothing is sustainable on its own. To change the world, you have to change the way people see the world.

The support of my coaches and teachers propelled me into NCAA Division One track at Mount St. Mary's University

Seacrest Community

Sydney Richards

Seacrest Prepared me to be a leader in general. Whether at work, in the recording studio, or anywhere I go, I've noticed my leadership qualities coming through since I left Seacrest. While I was there, everyone was a leader, but when you break out into the real world, you find, I really am prepared to work with people and to be a positive influence. At Seacrest you are given the independence to try and make mistakes in the classroom; to launch projects and see what happens. You are just given the resources and support to have a safety net to fail and learn. And they give you the recognition and highlight you when you succeed.

Seacrest College Counseling

Seacrest's college counselor acts as a personal guide that works one-on-one with students to help them define their goals and map their path for future success.

Our knowledgable faculty support and educate students and parents to become sophisticated college consumers who are empowered to make choices that benefit them and take them closer to their future goals.

BEGINS IN NINTH GRADE

Our comprehensive college counseling program sets Seacrest apart. Beginning freshman year, we draw every student into the process. Each fall, college admissions representatives from some of the nation’s best colleges and universities visit our Upper School campus. Annual college tours are scheduled for each class and offer students a glimpse of colleges and universities each having distinctive programming and personality.

A COLLEGE FOR YOU

The college process is individualized to each student with the goal of finding the right fit for every senior, based on academic performance, future goals, school culture, student personality, financial needs and extracurriculars. Students and parents become sophisticated college consumers who make educated decisions when choosing the perfect fit.

CAREER EXPERIENCE

Seacrest also offers unique opportunities for career exploration to its Upper School students through our Seacrest Experience and CareerQuest programs. During the Seacrest Experience, juniors and seniors are able to design an internship or job shadowing experience that will help them learn more about an intended major or career. CareerQuest is an annual event that brings professionals from across the region and the country onto our campus for a day of programming and interaction with our students.

College Corner

Whenever I travel I always try to incorporate a college visit into my trip. I don’t always sign up for an official tour and/or information session, but I take advantage of the opportunity to experience the campus in real time.

Seacrest Country Day School has 100% college acceptance rate for the class of 2021 and the class of 2022 is on course to hit that same goal.

Five senior athletes, Daniel DiNorica, Justin Jackson, Carmen Merkel, Rebecca Weir, and Jackson Toberman, were honored on December 8th, with a College Commitment day in our Upper School Gym.
