Seacrest Students spent today learning the ropes at the Sugden Community Theatre, home of The Naples Players. A new partnership between Seacrest and TNP will give students hands on experience and life skills needed to work as actors, crew members, and work on scenic and costume design and construction, audio technology, lighting technology, and stage management.

"The Naples Players is excited to offer this mutually beneficial partnership with Seacrest Country Day School," said Pamela Caruso, TNP Volunteer Coordinator. "Our goal is to provide Seacrest students exposure to viable careers in the arts while offering them hands-on experiences they can use in future educational, internship, and career opportunities in theatre, visual arts, technology, and design."

The Naples Players has been an integral part of the Naples arts community for 66 years. They stage more than 220 performances a year to audiences of more than 50,000 annually. This highly volunteer-based theater utilizes more than 600 volunteers and more than 60,000 hours of service. Seacrest students will have the chance to join this highly-trained group and learn about the work and creativity that goes into each show.

"The point of this partnership is to encourage creative students to follow their passions and seek and secure careers doing what they love," Caruso said. "I know Seacrest students. They are respectful and eager to learn and are not afraid to follow their own path. They will also be able to incorporate what they learn into the Seacrest Productions and it will be exciting to see this happen"

"This is such a benefit for both parties," said Michael Grandi, Seacrest Art Department Chair. "I am so excited to help fuel these kids passions and explore the possibilities."
