Upper School

Grades 9–12

The Upper School years are a time of purpose and possibility. At Seacrest, students deepen their intellectual curiosity while developing the independence, leadership, and confidence that prepare them for college and beyond.

Through rigorous academics, meaningful collaboration, and opportunities in the arts, athletics, and service, students discover their strengths and begin shaping the future they imagine for themselves.

Independent | Purposeful |
Future-Ready

Upper School at Seacrest is a time of intellectual challenge, personal discovery, and purposeful growth. Students deepen their academic skills while exploring interests, developing leadership, and preparing for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Our college-preparatory curriculum encourages students to think critically, communicate clearly, and take ownership of their learning. Students may pursue an array of Advanced Placement (AP) courses across disciplines, alongside rigorous core classes, allowing them to challenge themselves academically while exploring subjects in greater depth. Through meaningful collaboration and close mentorship from faculty, students build the confidence and independence that define successful scholars.

Beyond the classroom, students engage in athletics, the arts, service, and leadership opportunities that help shape character and broaden perspective. By the time they graduate, Seacrest students are prepared not only for college, but for lives of purpose and impact.

Purposeful Learning & College Preparation

Learning in the Upper School is designed to challenge students while helping them discover their passions and strengths.

Through advanced coursework, cross-disciplinary study, and independent projects, students explore connections across subjects while learning to analyze complex ideas, conduct meaningful research, and communicate with clarity and confidence. Personalized college counseling begins early in Upper School, guiding students through course selection, leadership opportunities, and the college application process.

Experiential opportunities—including internships, leadership programs, service learning, and academic competitions—extend learning beyond the classroom and encourage students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, preparing them for the demands of college and the world beyond.

"Upper School is where students begin defining who they are and what they hope to achieve. Our role is to challenge them intellectually while supporting their growth as confident scholars and thoughtful leaders.”

— Dr. Kory Gallagher, Co-Head of School/Head of Lower and Middle School
