Elementary Program: Philosophy

Seacrest School's Elementary curriculum is an academically challenging program where children interact, grow, and develop in a loving, safe, and secure environment. Our children are immersed in a hands-on and unique integrated curriculum that focuses on deep understanding as they move toward new learning.

Children are naturally curious and internally motivated. They have a need to discover why and how things work. Through the use of creative techniques in social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development our children build a solid foundation for success in and out of the classroom.

This age-appropriate curriculum is interdisciplinary, integrated, and includes multi-cultural experiences and state-of-the-art technology. Children are encouraged to work cooperatively, think holistically, and observe critically and appreciatively. Using these methods, they discover well-ordered systems and participate in multiple strategies to achieve higher levels of learning. Through these experiences, our children explore and further their learning while developing the responsibility and flexibility to adjust to various situations.

Children naturally value their learning in other disciplines and in their world. Our children are enthusiastic and confident learners who recognize the relationships that exist among the various branches of the curriculum and their lives.

Seacrest children practice good citizenship in the classroom, throughout the school community, and in the world at large.
