Special Events
Events that we celebrate during the 2009-2010 school year are listed below...
Sally Foster
September 3, 2009-September 18, 2009
The Seacrest Country Day School PTO uses the Sally Foster wrapping paper and gifts fundraiser. This is the PTO's only fundraiser. Every year, the monies that are raised are spent on programs that directly benefit students. In past years, the profits have been used to buy musical instruments, provide new E-beam technology for classrooms, upgrade playground equipment, provide funds to travel to the King Tut exhibit in Ft. Lauderdale, and bring dramatic performances to Seacrest. Recently, the Upper School student body has decided to use their profits for Prom expenses. This fundraiser is an easy way for students and families to support their school.
Heritage Luncheon Week
October 19-23, 2009
Each year, Seacrest opens its doors for the annual Heritage Luncheon Week. Each family brings a dish representative of their family's heritage to share at this multicultural event celebrating our national and ethnic diversity. The Heritage Luncheon has a clear purpose as it is part of our Global Education Program. This is a very special day for our students so, if you can attend only a limited number of "during the workday" events, this one is not to be missed!
Red Ribbon Week
October 19-23, 2009
Seacrest participates in the annual Red Ribbon Week which is the oldest and largest drug prevention awareness campaign in the nation. Our focus is to encourage our students to live healthy lives and maintain healthy bodies through proper nutrition.
Annual Halloween/Costume Parade for Grades PK-5th
October 30, 2009
This is a favorite day for students and parents alike. Children in grades Prekindergarten through Fifth Grade dress in costumes (you may even catch a teacher, too) and have a parade while High School students may view the activities and Middle School students enjoy a treat. The Lower School Parade is followed by a fifth grade sing-along in the gymnasium. Enjoy our October 31, 2008 Media Gallery.
4th Annual Stingray Golf Tournament
October 24, 2009-Fiddler's Creek
The annual Stingray Golf Tournament is an opportunity for our community of golfers to enjoy a good round of golf while sharing good company, food, and prizes. While having fun our participants help raise money for the Seacrest Country Day School Athletic Program. The money is used to continue enhancing our teams which now include track, soccer, cross country, baseball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, softball, golf, and tennis.
Veterans Day Flag Ceremony
It is a Seacrest tradition that the third grade students lead Flag Ceremony for Veterans Day. We invite our families to bring friends or family members who are veterans to this special Flag Ceremony so that we can recognize their gifts to our country.
Harvest Hay Day
November 7, 2009
This Seacrest Tradition was started in the Fall of 2000. You and your family won't want to miss this afternoon of good old-fashioned fun! Enjoy a traditional fall festival which includes an outstanding cook-out on the deck, hay rides, crafts for all ages, games, petting zoos, and even horse and pony rides. This is a fabulous day for parents and children alike-a chance to gather and visit with old friends, meet new friends, and enjoy the camaraderie that is so much a part of the Seacrest Difference.
Salvation Army Canned Food Drive
October 30, 2009 - November 13, 2009
Our assistance makes it possible for the Salvation Army to feed the hungry in Collier County at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and throughout the coming year. The Seacrest community has always taken care of those in need, and our participation makes this drive a success with the number of canned goods donated by students. Participation in the Salvation Army Canned Food Drive is a Seacrest tradition.
Holiday Toy Drive
December 1-14, 2009
Each December, our Seacrest community collects toys for those less fortunate. For many years, in partnership with the East Naples Fire Department, we have collected toys for local children. Last year the East Naples Fire Department said, "You don't know how well you have done: Seacrest is the biggest contributor in the county."
Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day
February 5, 2010
Each year Seacrest hosts Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day. Since its inception in 1988, this special day continues to be one of the highlights of the school year. Students invite their Grandparents' and Special Friends' to come and spend part of their school day with them so that they can share the joy and creative learning that takes place here at Seacrest. Parents, students, teachers, and staff work together to make this a day to remember for our visitors.
Valentine's Day Carnations
February 11, 2010 (Sales run February 1-9)
Each February as Valentine's Day nears, all of a sudden there are lots of secret messages going around. You might wonder what is going on! The short answer is that it is a Seacrest Tradition for the 8th grade students to organize the sale of carnations for your special Valentine. Parents send to their children; children send to their friends and their teachers; lots of people send carnations to those in the office and Dr. Powell; and teachers send carnations to their colleagues. (Click here for 3-in-1 forms, To A Very Special Person form or payment form.)
Heartfelt Celebration
The Lower School teachers and staff of Seacrest Country Day School will open the school doors to the Naples community to invite parents and children to participate in an afternoon of activities. We encourage our Seacrest community to invite friends and neighbors to enjoy and explore the many opportunities and activities that are provided here at Seacrest Country Day School, The School with a Heart!

Scholastic Book Fair
March 1-March 5, 2010
Each year the library holds a Book Fair. Many wonderful volunteers work throughout the week as each class visits the Book Fair and the children love the chance to browse and purchase books. All proceeds from the Book Fair are returned to the Seacrest library.
Seacrest High School Presents Cabaret Night
Many talented high school students share their enthusiasm, talents, and artistic gifts with an appreciative audience. This is a splendid evening showcasing our talented high school students.
Gala for Treasures
March 13, 2010-Naples Grande Beach Resort
Seacrest School's Gala for Treasures (the treasures of course refer to our children!) is our annual auction. All proceeds benefit the school's substantial scholarship program. Approximately 30% of our families receive need-based financial aid the total of which grows every year! Creating a community of learners based on academic excellence, not limited by financial constraints, is an integral part of the Seacrest philosophy. Click here for Volunteer Form!
