Seacrest Faculty Attend Spiritual and Ethical Education Workshop

Seacrest is committed to the professional development of its staff, especially when that crosses over into bolstering our mission. Two of our esteemed faculty, Mrs. Minder, Dean of Middle School, and Mrs. Weir, Dean of Upper School, are participating in a workshop that is part of the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education series.

The workshop is led by Dr. Ellen Porter Honnet of the Stanley King Counseling Institute. The workshop is titled, "Advising and Listening to Students: The value and challenge of deep listening".

Ellen Porter Honnet, Ed.D., Institute Director, is a psychologist with expertise in cross-cultural issues, adolescent sexuality and listening skills. Working with teens and young adults, her training was at the Harvard and Wellesley College Health Services. She was for several years a residential dean and Assistant Dean for Co-education/Sexual Harassment Hearing Officer at Harvard College.

At the workshop, Mrs. Minder and Mrs. Weir will learn how to hone their listening skills and deepen relationships with students and advisees.
